Today’s morning activity was turtle tagging. This involved being towed behind a dingy until one of the endangered species was spotted. Next, a wild goose chase occurred. Shipmates would snorkel around trying to shepherd the turtle towards shallow water when one would try and grab it. One turtle was caught and named Ted! We tagged and measured it and then released it. After lunch, the already certified had a check-out dive while we new divers completed our confined watercourse. After these sessions, everyone returned to the boat, where shipmates combined acrobatics with saltwater showering off the starboard side of Ocean Star.
