Location: Chatham Bay, Union Island
The day began with an optional sunrise snorkel off the shore of Carriacou. Next, we had a 2-hour passage to get from Carriacou to Chatham Bay on Union Island, dropping anchor surrounded by the peaks of the island. Later in the day, we headed to shore to meet with the head of the Union Island Environmental Alliance, Katrina, who began the program with just herself and expanded it island-wide over the last 27 years. The wet landing to get to shore hit a snag as people found out the hard way that the shallow water was covered with urchins. We ended the day with a lasagna dinner and a student lead leadership class.
