Location: Christmas Island

As I woke from my slumber, memories of yesterdays tour came rushing back. Was that all a dream?
Jewel had a slightly different start to her dayby 5:30 a.m., she was already whipping up five dozen eggs, sausage, and fruit with Thaxton and Henry. Maybe they thought they were dreaming, too.
After breakfast, we dove straight into the dayliterally. Everyone buzzed in and out of the dinghy as we flawlessly executed Zoes dive plan. It was a smooth, well-coordinated operation.
While the crew explored below the surface, I went on a separate mission: the continuing quest for cooking gas. Wade, the harbor master, kindly gave me a lift up the hill to the hardware store. I was surprised by how well-stocked it was! No luck on the gas, but I did get to browse the aisles while Wade waited patiently. After three months in Indonesia, where good hardware stores are few and far between, stepping into Christmas Island Hardware felt like a treat. I replenished some much-needed supplies for Vela, and Wade drove me back down the hill.
Back on board, I fired off a few emails before diving into the lazarette to fine-tune our new steering gear. An hour and a half later, drenched in sweat, I jumped straight into the water to cool off.
As I climbed back on deck, the smell of dinner wafted up from the galleymmm.
After a quick bite and cleanup, we ended the day with one more night dive. Theres something magical about the underwater world after dark.
Thats all for today,Mac.

P.S.
To my family, I love and miss you all.
