Location: Bajo, Flores

Yesterday wrapped up with a thrilling chess game between Emma and Jack in the Argo Chess Tournament night session that kept the crew entertained after dinner. Emma took the initiative early in the game, but after she missed a checkmate, Jack had a comeback to end up defeated by Emma.
The day started with a busy 12-to-4 shift for watch team 2. Everyone was excited to listen to Everett impersonating the new entry of Harry Potter -Episode 6. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. As we were approaching coastal waters, boat traffic increased, and we had to send students to bow watch. Rain also made an appearance.
With the first light, watch team 3 dropped sails. In the early afternoon, we anchored in the busy bay of Labuan Bajo, bringing the last long passage of this trip to an end.
The staff was sent to shore straight away to get provisions. We scouted almost every supermarket and fruit shop in town, and we are now ready to keep the crew well fed during the next couple of weeks until we get to Bali.
Meanwhile, the students had the afternoon off to visit the city. They had a fantastic time shopping, trying local food, getting gelato, and those feeling homesick went to Starbucks. Shay, Max and Claire got matching t-shirts; Julian could finally find a replacement for his lost water bottle, Harrison got a sick Komodo bucket hat, Maya, Cornelia, Josie, Susie, and Rhi bought jorts, Addi a straw hat with seashells… and they all stocked up on snacks for the last part of the trip.
To round up the day, we all met for dinner in a nice seafront hotel, ate delicious food and enjoyed some live music. After dinner, the whole student group stormed onto the stage to sing alongside the band.
On the way out, some students stopped at the hotel’s rooftop club for a short dance before heading back to Argo.
The crew is now ready for the short motor passage to Komodo.

Besos a Mam y a las tas,
