Wow. Actually, hooolllyyyyy COW you guys. Today was our last day at anchor. It totally
just does not feel like anywhere near the end of the program. It feels like this is just life, and
everyone around is my family. Each and every person has their role, and we all are just
one big ol’ family that couldn’t possible never see one another again. But I guess life
goes on. This morning, we started our day getting ahead on our final Boat Appreciation.
Cecily and Nicole washed our PFDs, put them to sleep, for they will not be used for a
while. Those things stank. But they stank with our sweat after wearing them every day
we were underway. Those things held memories, Cecily and Nicole had the pleasure to
wash them clean for the next crew to inhabit, to make new memories, and of course to
absolutely sweat in more than you ever believed you were capable of sweating. Benny,
Zac and Kiki de-rigged and took our jibs o of the bowsprit. Shane, Eli, and Sylver
organized our Laz. Dairy and Kara cleaned the bilges and the food storage. Isaac and
Olympus cleaned our BCDs, regulators, and dive gear, because we’ve wrapped our diving
experience from Argo. One to never ever be forgotten. Nini and I took the dinghy to
scrub the rust and black stains o the hull. This proved to be extremely dicult in the
rather rocky sea state. But nonetheless, Argo is all the cleaner. But anything for
Argo. Even if it means jumping in the water with three life jackets on, and waiting for
the stern to dip down far enough for me to scrub a spot of black exhaust o the white
paint. We really love this boat. After all that, we headed to shore for our last shore day.
The majority of us scouted out a Mexican place and stued our faces. This Mexican food
was some of the best I’ve had. Like UnBELLLievable. 😉 Then we walked around,
exploring the shops and town before heading to the beach for a liUle swim before our
dinner and hike up to SHIRLEY heights. The long-awaited Shirley Heights. There
was a GIANT BBQ and steel drum band overlooking the view of the marina, high above
Antigua. We all ate our BBQ before dancing our pants o to the reggae band after the
steel drums. This music was so incredibly good. And we love to dance, so you just know
we had a good time. One of our final hurrahs to celebrate each other and our
experience. Then to finish off our day, we took of final jump off Argo EVER. We did a synchronized cannonball and spent a long while in the water, knowing once we got out, it would be the last time, but boy was it a good last time. I’ll miss needing the jump in the ocean to bathe. There is kind of a lot to be missed, but that’s how you know it was worth it.
