Location: Underway to Mallorca

Starting in the early morning, Scottie and Sienna raised our sails for the first time this trip! However, unfortunately, we were also met with rougher seas. The boat tilted and shifted with the sea. People were thrown from their beds and launched into a constant state of seasickness. After a very long night, the sun finally rose when Ryan took a spill and was drenched with water (he is fine). As the morning progressed, the waves continued to get even bigger to around 10 feet, but since it was many of our first times sailing in the open ocean, these waves felt more like 16-20 feet. Watch team three grabbed a quick breakfast from the galley while Ryan dried off. At around 1200, everyone was woken up for a delicious and much-needed lunch made by Charlie. We had pasta salad, the perfect meal for those who are seasick. After some more vomiting, we gathered for our lesson about international crew training led by Shane. Once our lesson was finished, most of the boat’s crew gathered above deck to try to escape the sea sickness.

Then, Piper, Carlie, Rina, and Logan all had a midday snack of the leftover smoothie bowls from our breakfast the other day. They were very tasty and cooled us all off from the heat of the sun. Ella, Brig, Avery, and Logan did some crafting with leather for our davits. During that time, more than half of the boat was sleeping throughout the tenure for most of the afternoon. According to Nicole and Charlie, it looked like an “Argo graveyard”. For our last meal of the day, once again cooked by Charlie, we had taco bowls. They were delectable! They had chips, ground beef, rice, and beans, as well as some miscellaneous vegetables. For a squeeze, we all shared how many times we have thrown up and or dream careers in the future. Argo out!
