Location: Underway to Mauritius
Hey guys, welcome to day 6 of passage! Im Perry, renowned chief morale officer, fish dissector, and wasp exterminator, and I am here to give you the lowdown on what we have done on this fine Tuesday.
It all started at 8 am (for watch team 3). We had a great wake-up and morning sail, where we have been absolutely flying recently. We averaged over 9 knots over the last 24 hours (for Vela, that is going pretty darn fast)! We then had a delicious lunch prepared by our very own Riley, Scarlette, and Vera. It was a sweet potato hash with some sausage on the side.
In the afternoon, we knocked out some seamanship exams and had a quick dual-lesson in oceanography today. Luckily, recently the weather has been quite frigid, so the time down below deck has been very comfortable (I would argue natural AC). After some study hall time, we had what Riley named carboload for dinner. This includes but wasnt limited to spaghetti carbonara, fresh bread, and cookies for dessert.
It was a nice and peaceful day out here in the middle of the Indian, and with our current momentum, we will be in Mauritius before we know it.
Thanks for reading,
Perry
