Location: Sorong, Indonesia

The day started off bright and early with my watch team 3 on the 12 am- 4 am watch. I decided it was time to give a helmsona a chance, hoping Id get some redemption after Ive had some bad luck on the helm (For anyone back home, helming means to control the wheel). The first time I helmed, the steering cable snapped, and the second time, we had to do an oil change mid-passage. But every watch and every helm sesh still makes me the happiest person in the whole world, and I wouldnt trade this for anything. So I stretched my legs and helmed for 4 straight hours. I watched 21 Jump Street the night before with Harry, and he came up with the name for me (thank you, Harry). 21 Helm Street.

After my 124 am, I woke up around 11:30 to a call for lunch. I stepped outside the hatch and saw land! I was surprised by the beautiful sight of the mountains. It was great to see land. It was also great to see that the 48 am watch raised the main sail since we havent had it up all passage. We had great food for lunch, Mediterranean bowls made by Charlotte, Sadie, and Jack. During lunch, we spotted dolphins off the port side of the boat. The rest of the day was pretty chill. Some people had rescue diver knowledge reviews, and some people were able to get in an extra nap or a quick study sesh. After, we were all called up on deck to start to drop the sails to anchor. This is one of my favorite things about sail handling: dropping the sails and putting up the sails. If Ive learned anything from this trip, its the beauty of a sailing team. No one was left without a job on deck. Shortly after anchoring, we had the Indonesian customs people aboard Argo; it took a little longer than expected, so we ate dinner quickly and sent some staff to go provision on land. After dinner, we were all able to have some downtime, and it was nice to have a little bit of service to call family. Even though we had some plans switch up, it was still another amazing day on Argo.

To Mom, Jason, Leasy, and everyone else who follows this blog- I love you all to the moon and back.
