Today is day twenty-six of this uniquely beautiful experience, also meaning that we only have two weeks left on our little ship. Today turned out to be the calmest and quietest day I have had since stepping foot on our boat almost a month ago. It reminded me of all of the little joys and small blessings that each day has brought, and how many of them I may have let pass me by. Today I noticed the beautiful color of the water and the sound of the waves around us, and then I remembered how we are simply floating on it constantly; no matter how many days pass, I think that feeling will always be surreal. I noticed the smiles on the faces of my friends coming back from their dives and how their faces lit up talking about all the amazing things they got to see. Today consisted of octopus, Caribbean reef sharks, squid, and coral! The feeling of sitting on the bowsprit, laughing with my friends, hanging out over the water. The sound of the boats driving by and the occasional waves from the people in them. Smelling dinner being made by our wonderful chefs of the day while I got to read on top of the chart house. I noticed the small conversations being had about old memories or favorite hobbies while scrubbing dishes after meals. I witnessed the quiet smiles and head nods as we were constantly passing each other and moving amongst the boat. The way Gabe made learning about Nav Master so enjoyable and memorable for us. Jumping into the ocean for our nightly ocean showers with laughs and fun conversation filling the air. Tonight I asked some friends on the boat to give me a little joy they noticed today. Lizzy’s joy was making a bowl of mini wheats and our nightly snack time; Chloe’s joy was waving to us from the dinghy on the way back from her dive; and Emma’s was that she got to listen to new songs in the salon. Today reminded me of the beauty and joy of living, working, exploring, and experiencing on this boat. I am grateful for today for showing me and reminding me what this experience is all about and how many little joys are right in front of my face each day.
