Location: Prickly Bay, Grenada
Today marked the final day of passage. As the sun rose over the Caribbean, Ocean Star sped towards Grenada. In a fitting end to an enjoyable journey, dolphins swam alongside us in our final hour with sails up. Steph was particularly stimulated by their presence, tumbling twice as she galloped across the deck. It’s difficult to fault her for her excitement, though; the dolphins were the first mammals we had seen in four days and three nights that weren’t sailors on Ocean Star. Following our arrival, we had a fantastic lunch cooked by Liana. After lunch was one of the more eventful cleanups, we have had. Several enthusiastic crew members gave impassioned renditions of some of the 2010s’ greatest hits. There were even line dancing lessons at one point.
Following cleanup was Seamanship with Drewski. He taught us “Dead Reckoningggggg.” It started out with a fix. How did it end up like this? We need the head and the dist(ance). It was cool. We ended the day by watching our first sunset over Grenada before eating yet another delicious meal from Head Chef Liana.
