Hello again “bloggers,”

Boy, are you in for a treat today. The day began bright and early at 7:00 here in Antigua. Breakfast was a wonderful yogurt and granola, which was going to be the perfect brain food to get us through the numerous activities of the day. We organized the equipment required for diving and learned how to tie a slippery clove hitch knot. We also went through the ship’s many features, including the saloon, galley, chart house, and the deck.

Later in the day, we learned about the different types of PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) we have on the ship and figured out how to utilize them in an emergency. Then came the moment that we all were enthusiastically awaiting the whole day- our swim test! We all passed without worries and then got to enjoy the beach and ocean with some free time. In addition, we made a new friend in a happy black lab that we creatively named “Dog.” He was able to enjoy the water with some of us too.

Here are some pictures of Ocean Star and her views, some of us gathering our dive equipment, practicing using the firehouse, Dog and his new friends, and a few of the clean-up duties (I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone be that happy to be cleaning dishes).

Love you Mom, Dad, and Family, and until next time,
Kasey Z
