Location: Granada, Spain

Happy day 32, and we have some content for you land lubbers! Today was our second day docked in Almerimar, and we had plans to go to Alhambra in Granada. We had an early morning, waking up at 5:30 and having bagels on the go to catch our bus leaving town. After an hour and a half bus ride (nap time #1), we arrived right outside the Alhambra. We got to enjoy the beauty and the rich history of the palace as we walked through the lavish gardens and perfect arches. Even seeing a little rainbow over Granada was an amazing experience! After up at the palace, we all set out to the city for some free time to explore. Cat, Ruby, Amy, and I wandered down the main street and in the numerous parks, enjoying the rich history that is depicted in the fountains, statues, and buildings. True to Granada’s heritage, we got a fascinating fusion of Spanish and Arabic culture as we all walked around the streets.

After a couple of hours of exploring, we all met back up for an early dinner in Granada, following which we set out in search of gelato before it was time to get back on the bus. Granada had something for everyone! Audrey and Watson went for a hike and saw an amazing view of the city. James, Dan, and Eliza took a fabulous photo at the Alhambra. Jesse found the Mecca of protein powder in the Granada Mall, and the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed all that the city had to see. After a long day and another long bus ride (nap time #2), we made it back to Vela, where the cutest charcuterie layout was waiting for us; thank you, Emma and Smash! Once we all had a bite to eat and a minute to rest, we went out once more for the night, a perfect ending to an amazing day!
