Location: Soufriere, St. Lucia
Today was a day of science. After Holly’s delicious breakfast, we got ready to go to shore for an SMMA presentation on Marine Management. We then had some time to explore Soufriere before getting back to the boat for some lunch. We then went on a Reef check dive to count Fish, Invertebrates, and Substrate. Everyone worked with their dive buddy to record data about the reef. The Ranger that came with us, Peter, showed us this cave, which was narrow and very deep and was full of Fruit bats. We got back to Ocean Star and put all our dive gear away before hitting the showers. Dinner was amazing!! Holly made tortillas from scratch for Quesadillas and incredible guacamole. Despite the massive amounts of flying ants at the table, the day ended pretty well.
