Location: Almerimar, Spain

Wowie! These dark and chilly mornings definitely make it difficult for us all to roll out of our warm bunks, but Del’s berry crisp was a good motivator! After a “crisp” breakfast up on deck, we rolled into clean up and tried to hide from the wind. Anna led another amazing Marine Biology class, where the students learned about some small and stingy marine critters. Del and Wednesday were back at it in the galley, whipping up delicious chicken sandwiches with freshly pickled veggies. After lunch clean up, everyone dispersed in groups to explore the area on our new mode of transportation for the day: bikes and quad-carts!! The students zoomed around Almerimar, exploring a nature preserve, the town, and the local beaches. Shout out to Gordon, who biked for 5 hours! Caroline and Hilary got a cart all to themselves and managed to peddle over 2 miles down the coast! Such a fun way to keep people warm throughout the afternoon. Around 6, we all gathered back in the cockpit for some delicious curry and Del’s FAMOUS chocolate chip cookies-so ‘Del’-icious. My squeeze question tonight was “over-rated and under-rated.” We had controversial answers such as over-rated peanut butter and underrated celery. We ended the day as we do with a beautiful sunset and gelato (and mini pool)
