Location: St Vincent

An early start today with wake-ups starting at 6:30. Everyone quickly got up on deck with two different teams assembled, one on the stern pulling in Erin and Vittoria on the stern lines, and everyone else helping get the anchors up. Once Erin and Vittoria were back on deck and the anchors were fully up, we were headed to Young Island! Before we got there, we had a yummy apple cinnamon oat bake for breakfast, and after that, we had a Marine Biology class about marine mammals. Soon after class, we anchored down. For the next few hours, our newly elected student leaders got to work. Grant started passage prep by putting dive gear away, taking sail covers off, and hallards back on. Reed started plotting on a map, trying to figure out the best course for us to get to St.Lucia by looking at wind predictions and currents. Erin was overseeing Reed’s plans and making sure everything was going smoothly. Nashota got down and dirty by doing a fuel transfer, turning the generators on and off, and creating a fuel plan for this passage. Around sunset it was time to go a quick little hike, thankful it was nothing like Lions Head back in Cape Town and was a peaceful going up and down. After a stunning sunset to end our last day in St. Vincent, it was time for dinner and then time to kick off the student-led passage to St.Lucia!!!
