Location: Underway to Sardinia

Wow, today was a great day. I was able to start the day off with Luke and Jesse for a workout at 6:15 am. After that, we rinsed off, and I woke up the rest of the crew with some music at 7:00 am. For breakfast, we had egg and bacon burritos. Afterward, we got assigned to three watch teams. From there, we were given different sets of tasks that we were in charge of in the event of an emergency. Next on the list was preparing for departure. I was given a list of tasks that needed to be completed in order for us to take off. So, we start on the list. We finished all of the tasks that needed completing before we disconnected from the dock. As we were disconnecting the lines, the local Mafia came over and tried to scam us by offering help. We declined, and they still tried to intervene so they could charge us an absurd amount for touching the lines that had connected us to the dock. We were able to complete all of the requirements before we left the harbor. Finally, with the open waters around us, we all took a deep breath, and it was as if we were all relaxing a bit at the same time. Throughout the day, various chores would be taken care of as needed, though since we were mostly sailing in a b-line to our destination in Sardinia, no tacking was needed. We were looking forward to the sunset tonight, and while it was still beautiful, the way the color of the sun changed the color of the clouds changed. Unfortunately, the golden effect on the cotton candy-like clouds that surrounded the horizon was not captured by the camera. I expect tonight to give us a taste of the long voyage across the Atlantic since we will be sailing till around 6 am. We have all three watch groups in rotation for the night, so we will all be getting turns with sleep. Another unfortunate thing is that there is a lack of photos from today as well, but more will come as time wears on.
