It was a peaceful day on Argo, with a lovely sunrise and a wake-up to bacon, eggs, beans, and toast. Oh my, I was certainly in heaven. Thank you, Kackie! And Shane, too, was the true head chef, but he was having a rough morning, so we let him off, barely. After a pleasant meal and swift cleanup, we split into groups. One group went off to get dingy certified, while the other group did some fun paperwork! This entailed some diving forms and permission to go diving in Dominica. Quickly after finishing up the business, we all got some feedback and guidance for our research project presentations that are due tomorrow. Meg kindly helped us all out to make sure we have some good presentations upcoming, so let’s hope all goes well and trust me. Eli, Maddy, and I are looking good. Next up, some time for revision for our two exams!

Curse you, Ben! But these were, in fact, our finals, so it was also a sad time. Finally, the first dinghy group got back, and it was group two’s turn. To start us off, Eli took Plaai for a spin, except Kackie got him real good and he forgot to check if he was in gear, but once we set off, we were plying (like flying). Next up was Benny, poor chap couldn’t get started until he realised the fuel wasn’t attached, muppet. Even after that, he was still struggling, but he eventually got us going with some reverse donuts and a pleasant visit from Dave (in the drone, of course). It came to Talia, and this was fun for some. Started off strong with no problems until we went to get on a mooring ball, on 3rd approach we were good. Except we left it to Benny to tie us off, and it took him a minute, but he got there eventually. But just as we thought it was fine, we were drifting away, and it turns out the line Benny had tied was NOT attached to Plaai. He had managed to untie the part of the line attached to the dinghy.

Following this caffuffle came the struggle. Talia had to get us back, tied to Argo. This was a challenge, but thankfully, on the 8th attempt, we got there. WOOP! Kiki followed showing us how it’s done and as smooth as ever. I was last and wasn’t too bad, spun round the block, and wrapped it up. Came back for some quick study time on the ID quiz, where Isaac, Darrien, and I blasted through it before lunch. Following lunch, Nini and I took some time to chill with Joshua (the sun), but we have now found out this was a bad idea.

We have been roasted. But it was good fun, and Benny even came over and super soaked Nini while I stayed nice and dry. Hilarious. Except now it was exam centrala speedy ID quiz followed by a short exam review and straight into our marine biology final. Personally, I think it was pretty good (mum and dad, this isn’t the “I think it was good” then I get like a D, or atleast I hope it isn’t) nevertheless everyone got the exam done. We then had some people take some outstanding naps while others cracked on as it is crunch time and we have ASSignments due left, right, center. In came dinner before we knew it, and Shane, freshly risen from the grave, clapped back with some absolutely delightful fried chicken. Truly a blessing to the taste buds. Anyways, after a quick clean up and an organised fire line system by yours truly, we got all the scuba tanks into the laz and tied them down, and we are done for the day.

To the Haydons – Missing you all so much, hope to call you guys soon when the time is right because it seems to always be around 7-8 pm here when we’re free. But I’ll fit it in. Maya, you are a melt 🙂
