Location: Underway to Tarragona

I started today by being woken up at 4 a.m. along with the rest of watch team 3 for the 4-8 watch. Even though I definitely did not want to wake up at 4 a.m., it was actually a great way to start the day. When our watch started, the stars were so pretty, and we saw so many shooting stars. During this watch, not only did I take the helm for the first time, but some of us also did our first solo boat checks, making us the first watch team where everyone had completed solo boat checks. Our watch ended with a beautiful sunrise at exactly 7:45 am, which made me and Liam tie in our “What time will the sunrise?” competition. After watch, I went back to sleep and woke up a little before lunch. For lunch, Sienna introduced us all to grilled peanut butter and jelly, which were so good, even though I had to have sunflower butter instead. After lunch and cleanup, we had marine biology and leadership. In marine biology, we learned about some basics of biology, and in leadership, Rob and Joe led a class on their chapter of the leadership book. After class, I had watch again when Calli had her opening of the Argo salon with her first client, Miles. Then we had dinner, which was tacos in a bag, which is basically tacos, but instead of shells, you use chips, and it was so good. We finished dinner by singing Happy Birthday to Amanda and with my squeeze question, “What’s your favorite thing about Amanda?”. We all said how much we love her positive attitude and her never-ending stories. Today was our first full day being underway, and we still have about 20 hours left until we dock in Tarragona, which I think we all are super excited about.
