Boy oh boy, what a day the Vela crew had! Started off the day with a great sunrise and yummy breakfast thanks to Claire and her helpers, and the whole crew celebrated Noa’s 22nd birthday WOOHOO!! Arden and Jason got hoisted up on the mast this morning to retrieve a stray hammock, which was quite the sight. The openwater dive group spent the day working out by a sandbar, working on the confined space stuff we need before we do more dives. Daniel and Claire’s patience sure was tested, but luckily, they’re great teachers, and everyone’s close to being able to dive. The rest of the crew spent the day at the beach, having a blast catching some rays and others some sunburns. Once the open water dive group got back, we all hung out on deck, swimming and enjoying the beautiful sunset. Then we all gathered for a delicious dinner and a bday cake for Noa, which everyone chowed down on. Now I’m writing this and will probably go play cards with everyone, then hit the sack and probably catch my hair in my fan again.
