Location: Underway to Mauritius
As the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, so another day onboard Argo comes to a close. We are now three days into the longest passage of our journey, and already dates and times are ceasing to matter. Everyone has easily fallen back into the simple rhythm of passage life. Watch. Study. Lunch. Class. Shower. Dinner. Study. Watch. Sleep. Repeat. On the schedule for classes, today was an Oceanography exam followed by Basic Seamanship. For those endeavoring to receive their professional skipper’s license, they received back their exams and began discussing their next topic: celestial navigation. In addition to our own personal to-do lists is to start planning our menus for the rest of the trip. With food at the forefront of everyone’s minds, a delicious dinner of spinach casserole was extremely welcomed. We have set back our clocks onboard an hour as we inch ever Westward. It’s been your average, fantastic day sailing across the Indian Ocean, and I’m looking forward to getting to repeat it over and over for the next week.
