It was an absolute joy waking everybody up to I Just Died In Your Arms this morning. We began our day with some scrumptious breakfast burritos and soon transitioned into the boat policy meeting. After that, we scurried around, learning lots of things about our home for the next 90 days. After this, we had our lunch, spring rolls in a bowl, which was a first for me and also my first time having tofu… very interesting (and delicious, duh). We then went through safety things and had a super fun time using the fire hose and putting on our Gumby suits. Hopefully, neither will be needed. We then had an awesome barbecue chicken dinner and finished the meal telling everyone our pet peeves and appreciation of the day. My appreciation was waking up early, and my pet peeve is people that can’t read social cues… if you were wondering. Overall it was an awesome day! Everyone is getting along so well. It really seems like this is going to be a great group. Despite only running on around 6 hours of very sweaty sleep for the past 48ish hours, it has been nothing but awesome. We are starting our first class tonight, Intro to Seamanship. Not quite sure if my brain will work for this one. I am ready for sleep tonight. Not especially thrilled about our 5:30 wakeup for the Rome day trip, but I cannot wait to go and see the city! So excited to see what the future holds for all of us and to dive head first into this adventure!
Love and miss you, Mom, Dad, Sam, Jack, and Maisie!
