Location: Saba to BVI
This morning started with a later wakeup, 7:30 am, as we continued to make our way to the BVIs. We motorsailed along for most of the way, narrowly avoiding lobster pots and catamarans as we entered the islands. We anchored around midday, dropping the starboard anchor instead of our usual port. To which Gabe affectionately stated that the starboard anchor was having its hot girl summer. We then had lunch, eggy rice bowls, and were told after eating that we could not leave the vessel as customs had not cleared us into the country yet. We took this time onboard to put the boat to bed and study for our oceanography midterm. As we were putting the boat to bed, an overboard incident occurred. Gigi threw the bowsprit sail cover to me, without warning, and the wind promptly took it overboard. Gigi then had to jump in fully clothed and swim to get it. What an eventful way to end a perfect passage. As I am writing, Zoe has taken out her individual tub of Nutella that we sometimes see her eating, but are not allowed to have. I reminded her that I had given her scoops of my trial mix during our watches, and she let me have a spoonful of her personal Nutella! What a way to end the day! Excited to see what tomorrow brings!
