Location: Gam, Raja Ampat, Indonesia

This morning was another beautiful day in Raja Ampat, and I took the liberty of waking everyone up with some Wonderwall by Oasis. During wake-ups, we lifted anchor and started to head out of our anchorage. Before everyone had even made it out of bed, we ran aground on some super shallow reef. This made my job of getting everyone up and on deck for breakfast surprisingly easy. Everyone was helping out in some way or another, all working as a team, trying to free Argo from the bottom. After 2 hours of hard work from the team and many different techniques tried, we eventually set ourselves free by towing Argo from the main halyard with one of the dinghies. Just another day on Argo. We are ok, the boat is ok, and we all learned a lot today. We motored on to find a new anchorage. However, the first one we visited was not suitable, and so we ventured onwards. On our way, we stopped off at a dive site called Manta Sandy and snorkeled around for a while. Some saw parrotfish spawning, others saw a turtle, however by far, the most talked-about sight was a Dugong! I was lucky enough to be the first to spot it. In the middle of a fin stealing competition, I looked down and saw this large yet elegant dolphin-whale-like creature. At the time, I had no idea what it was, so simply shouted at people nearby to take a look before it quickly swam off again into the distance. Once we were all back aboard, we motored on to our current anchorage, arriving at the sunset and putting on a beautiful show for us.
