After an amazing previous night, everyone woke up well rested, and before waking up, leaving my job of waking people up easy breezy. Shortly after, we gathered to hear the delicious and classic breakfast of eggs and sausage with sides of pineapple and watermelon, an energizing way to start our day. After kicking back and letting the food sit in our bellies, it was time to find out about the rest of our day. Having a one on one with our aw inspiring leader Samantha, I found out I got to break the amazing news to the group that we will be swimming with the turtles and exploring new islands just like Chrissy Colombo once did. Rushing to get everything done to make sure we didn’t miss our window of time to explore, cleanup went by in a breeze. We jumped in the boat and made off to the island, where we found an abundant amount of sea turtles grazing on the lushes seagrass as if they were the cows of the ocean. Some were even close to the same size as the famous cow. After the surreal experience, we made our way back to the boat, sadly leaving the new lands. Once we all made it safely back to Ocean Star, it was straight to work lifting up the buoy boats, which felt like a ton each. We were famished. Just in time, too, because our chefs cooked a delicious chicken and rice lunch with a side of canned chicken and pickles right on time. After a filling lunch, we got ready for an important class in oceanography while we were on the way to a new island, followed by a class in Leadership led by our classmates Katie and Julia, bringing up very interesting and unique discussions leaving people’s minds hungry for more. But out of time, leading that brain hunger straight to the belly, we waited for dinner with people taking time to catch up on work, paint their nails, or do laundry the same way the settlers once did with a bucket of water and a lot of scrubbing. Time flew by, and before we knew it, dinner was up early. Lucky us, it was more beans to end the night.
