Today was a big dive day! The people at the dive shop were super friendly and welcomed us to the dive boat. On the 20-minute boat ride there, we saw luscious, green rolling hills with sprinkled houses in-between. Our first dive site was called The Abyss, and for all of the newly certified divers, it was their first deep dive. We got up to 85 feet deep and saw lots of funky and colorful marine life like sea turtles, flounders, and fish: lots and lots of fish. My personal favorite was the trumpet fish because they are long, weird, and bigger than I thought (also, I play the trumpet, that was a nice resemblance). We then went on a second dive at Champaign Reef, which was our fish identification dive, where we saw even more varieties of fish (and cool, widely shaped coral). The dive shop was kind to boat us back to Ocean Star, where we began studying for our first oceanography exam. I think the exam went well, and no one had any major troubles because everyone had smiles on their faces after. We then had some free time to do some homework before dinner. Dinner was really good; it was okonomiyaki or cabbage pancakes.
To top the day off, we had a wonderful sunset to wish us goodnight.
