My beautiful, wonderful day started at exactly three in the morning. It was our first night of anchor watch, and I, of course, pulled the 3-4 shift. After falling back asleep for three more hours, it was then my turn to wake everyone up at seven on the dot. Like Eulalie said yesterday, no one pitched a fit or decided to start a fight with me (which, truth be told, I might’ve because I am very much not a morning person), but no arguments, which were awesome. We all enjoyed a very delicious breakfast which consisted of a well-made fritatatatata (hopefully that’s how it’s spelled, sorry mom) and many fruits. I myself munched on a one-of-a-kind, only for the skipper breakfast, which was oatmeal… trust me, as my family knows IS my favorite meal. We then went through some very exhilarating fire drills as well as other safety drills. Side note, I really hope we don’t have to use those drills in real life because of a bunch of college kids trying to put out a fire, well let’s just say it might not end up as we hope. After that, we transitioned to our scuba certification, which consisted of 4 long never ever ending videos with a quiz after each. We all passed, or at least I think we all did…, anyways in between, we enjoyed another magnificent meal by our amazing chefs. We then got back to the videos, and what seemed like a week later, we finally finished them. The rest of the day we spent in the water, swimming or snorkeling. A good bit of us saw some beautiful sea turtles and stingrays, and others found wine glasses that must’ve been from at least the 70’s given how OLD they look. Kidding all of your parents look great, don’t worry. We finished off our day with what I would say was the best meal of the day, which was truth be told, I don’t know, but I do know it was good. We all cleaned up and are now just hanging, preparing ourselves for the unexpected adventures that we will find tomorrow. As I finish this blog up, I can happily say I am not on anchor watch tonight and will definitely be setting up the hammock on deck and soaking what is this magnificent island and hoping and praying that I do get some well-rested sleep tonight because, if not, well good luck to the skipper tomorrow in trying to wake me up.
