Very similar to yesterday, today started with earlier wake-ups for those who still needed to dive while my group got to sleep an extra half hour. My alarm was set, and I was ready sharply at 7 to finish off wake-ups until Jake came stopping through up forward, stealing my thunder and loudly waking up the group. As everyone enjoyed the quiche prepared by Ayden, the dive group was off to finish the last bit of diving for this trip. Lucia, Zoe, Siena, Wes, Finn, Daniel, Cristian, Audrey, Lina, and I mentally prepared to spend the day working through the nav practice exam. We heard not-so-great rumors from the group yesterday. To our surprise, it didn’t take as long as we expected, but there’s definitely some review that needs to be done before the real exam. Once we finished, food and ice cream were a necessity to refuel. Wes, Siena, and I grabbed some dumplings, and although it was pouring, the ice cream was so worth it. Siena and I then tried to get some of our essays done at a coffee shop but got caught up doing crossword puzzles. It was such a relaxing afternoon seeing the double rainbow after the rain as we were greeted by the divers coming back. They seemed to have an amazing dive, seeing so much marine life, from eels to turtles to nudibranchs. After Jackson’s imaginary friend “Presley” got them all into a nice resort, they enjoyed a fancy beachy lunch before heading back to the boat for another of Ayden’s meals. We all did our part to clean up efficiently so we could all grab some more ice cream as motivation to finish our Marine Bio essays due tonight. Our clean laundry was then brought back to the boat, and we’re thrilled to have fresh-smelling clothes again. We’re all soaking in our last few days enjoying Mauritius before our next passage and excited to set sail again!

To everyone at home and following my journey, I love and miss you guys so much!! Can’t wait to share all my pictures and stories when I get back!
