Location: English Harbour, Antigua
The first order of business today was to finish up the confined water dives. All of the open water divers passed with flying colors and came back to Argo, grinning from ear to ear, as did their instructors. Following lunch, we brought up the anchor and headed back around to English Harbour to the fueling dock to take on fuel and water to prepare us for our trip. While at the dock, Mariette, a beautiful sailing vessel, pulled alongside us, so we all got to admire each other’s boats. After some free time, the whole crew got involved in our first passage prep- removing sail covers, running lines, etc., to make sure that when we leave (early tomorrow morning), everything will be ready to go. We had dinner below deck today due to the rain, and currently, the crew is being briefed on how passage life works, which will be followed by a talk on succeeding at Sea|mester. All in all, it’s been a great day; everyone has learned a lot and discovered how important teamwork is on this program.
