Last night watch team 3 celebrated Canada Day with Andrew as he gained his helmsona when the clock struck midnight and is now Wayne Helmsky! At 8 am this morning, Mr. Helmsky went to do the first boat check of our watch and was quickly startled awake when he went to check the bilges, and Sadie and Jack jumped out and scared him. On deck, the action continued when Charlie spotted the first dolphins of the trip! They swam up to us and rode the wake of Argo. For lunch today, Alexis and Brady, along with watch team leader Nicole, prepared quesadillas. Following the meal, we had a double leadership class. We started off on deck with a class led by Sadie and Mimi. Their presentation was about mindfulness and self-care. They split the group into two; the first group did a guided meditation with Sadie and Brig about Brig’s family ice cream business, Brookers Founding Flavors. Everyone closed their eyes and imagined indulging in the super premium James Madison’s Constitutional Crunch and Patrick Henry’s Give Me Chocolate or Give Me Death. The rest of the group did yoga and got a good hamstring stretch with Mimi! The relaxation quickly turned to excitement when Meg shouted “WHALE” from the helm.

We throttled back into neutral to watch the whale hang out on the surface and take a few breaths as Nicole narrated with lots of whale facts. We then went down below to do an activity with black and white photos. After a great leadership class, Hays headed to the valley to hand-make 5 kilos of pizza dough! During this time-consuming process, Payton, Dylan, Emma, Lou Lou, Maya, Henry, Andrew, Ella, and some others watched a movie. All while Grayson, Alex, Logan, and Rooke napped. Once the movie was over, it was pizza party time. The crew headed to the cockpit to enjoy the 13 pizzas the chefs had made! Lana and Avery tried to start a dance party; however, the group was just excited to eat. After dinner, Lizzy and Emily took pictures of the golden hour view until cleanup began.
