Location: Gibraltar

Hey guys, its Mina here. We are down to our last day tomorrow and are getting the boat ready for the next group of kids. Today was pretty eventful. We woke up at 7:00 and had banana bread that Logan, Dylan, Nick, and Emma made. The banana bread was made the night before, and the oven was a little too hot. On the bright side, we all got a little snack last night, but in the morning, there was no top layer;) We got ready for our last sail to Malaga, which is about 12 hours long. To start off, Hays and Avery jumped in the water and cleaned the anchor well and polished it.

Sadie, Lana, Emma, and I cleaned the topsides on the port side of the boat, and I thankfully did not fall in again! Maya, Emily, Greyson, and Henry did the starboard side, and Greyson definitely had too much fun spraying everyone with the hose! Mimi and Avery got revenge, though. Lizzy, Brig, Lou Lou, and Brady cleaned the gray water tank, which was very smelly. Lanie and many others did inventory with Meg, what I mean by that is, we counted the amount of food, so meg will know what she will need to get once we get to Malaga. After everything was done, some of us got to swim and lie out before lunch, which was so nice because we had not gotten to swim in so long, and I think my favorite thing was that we got to lie out and sleep. For lunch, we had quesadillas and tomato soup.

We then put up sails, and it was pretty cool to see how everyone has learned so much and how independent we have become. I think everyone agrees that this trip has been so much fun and eventful. Some kids are even considering being counselors next summer or when they are old enough. We have all grown so much, and this will be a big milestone in our lives. To finish this off, we had chicken wings and veggies for dinner, and something that I love the most is our after-dinner activities. The skipper comes up with a question, and today mine was, What song would the person to your right be? Now we are going to spend every last minute with each other until we go our separate ways. The last time I was here was two and a half years ago, and it was only for 3 weeks. I did, in fact, shed some tears, but I have spent 6 weeks, night and day, with all 26 kids and six staff members. So there will definitely be a lot of crying, at least from me, of course. Now, of course, this is not goodbye; we all want to visit each other, and we will meet again, hopefully next summer. On a personal note, I want to say that we all miss our family and friends and are very excited to reunite with them on the 24th and 25th.

Peace out,
Mina E.;)
