Location: Mountain Point, British Virgin Islands
We started the morning off with breakfast of assorted cereal and fruit, followed by our first seamanship class, during which we reviewed all the sails and lines on Ocean Star. With six sails and over 30 lines to learn and memorize, it certainly was a lot of material to cover. But the crew was up for it and rose to the challenge with success. This was followed by a quiz for the Open Water Divers before lunch. Then we hauled both anchors and headed to Mountain Point, where the Open Water Divers completed their first Open Water dive with enthusiasm. Later, certified divers explored some underwater swim-throughs and caves with Simon while others climbed up to the crow’s nest. After dinner, it was a slide show for oceanography followed by an early bed.
