I started the day being woken up by Marie, where I then woke up the rest of the boys in the fo’c’sle with a song with lyrics that should not be in this blog. We had a simple breakfast in the morning, where I finally got my needed red 40 dye and added sugar intake in the form of fruit loops. Don’t worry, there were healthy options as well, just not my cuppa (cup of tea as they say somewhere) this morning. After breakfast, we had a nav master class, where I locked in with a side of taking turns using my mechanical pencil to scratch the arms and legs of the person sitting next to me. After this, the non-advanced divers took their last training dives, while Millie, Madeline, Adaiah, and I finished working on our literature reviews and studied for our quiz after lunch. After the divers came up, officially advanced open water divers, I was a little sad that I wasn’t above them in certifications anymore, but more so happy for them. We then ate some curry for lunch, before we all took our next quiz. After this, we had time to do whatever we wanted before heading to the shore for the evening. I did some yoga with Millie and finally got over my fear of front flips during my swim with Avi. After a solid 10 successful flips, it was time to dedicate a flip to someone. Marie was sitting on deck, so I told her, “Marie, this one is for you!” Unfortunately, I did slip and land on my back. Ouch! Gigi said that she peed herself laughing. Better change your underwear, Gigi.
I didn’t let it faze me, though, as I needed to shower and get into actual clothes for tonight’s outing. Quite honestly, I already forgot what the bar was called, and we got back less than an hour ago, but I had some jerk chicken wings and fries for only 12 dollars, and a classic Shirley Temple for only two bucks. What a deal! The other drinks were way more expensive, so I chose not to drink. Did I regret it? I don’t know. I need to be less stingy. The sunset was amazing the clouds and the sun made the perfect lighting, and the beach was very nice, which made for a beautiful evening. We then did a squeeze on the beach, before heading back to the boat for the evening. Consensus is that it was a good night out. Tomorrow, we will be going on a hike, which will hopefully be less painful but just as beautiful as the one in DominicaNighty night.
