Location: West End, BVI's
Right after breakfast this morning, we began our “Giga-BA.” We began cleaning the galley and bunks and packing bags. A lot of hard work continued as we motored over to Frenchman’s Cay Shipyard in West End. We docked the boat and began the next stage of our BA. We managed to fit Adam in the engine room bilge. We had a hardcore team of Ryan and Brendan in the laz, Scotty in the chain locker, and all those hard-to-reach places were cleaned thoroughly. At lunchtime, I went and picked up a lunch of freshly baked baguettes and deli meats and cheese, with a nice cold drink for everyone. By 3 p.m., everyone was feeling satisfied and pleased with their work. Ocean Star looked great. It was a rewarding way to pay her back for the many happy and fun hours of sailing she has provided to us these past 80 days. Everyone was then free to make last-minute gifts, buy ice creams, enjoy a warm freshwater “proper” shower, and call home to confirm travel details. At 5:30 p.m., we did a squeeze for our final time together and then headed to Pisces restaurant for a really delicious dinner together for one last time. Written by Beaker
