Location: Raja Ampat
Today I had the 6 to 7 am anchor watch and got to watch the sunrisethe best way to start the morning. At 7, we mbegan ourpassage preparation as we aprepare to moveto the island Kri today Hopefully more diving! I did my morning backflip and had to climb up the bowsprit because Dan and Ben removed the ladder as I jumped (twas a joke)
Ben has too many of the same hats (3). I am now up the mast for reef watch on our short passage.
Got up to the second spreader to spot for reef (insert epic photos here)
The passage was smooth, we motored through some shallow water and around some reefs on our way to Kri. Had some expert VHF handling as well. Tougy and eagle eye on comms.
Picked up a mooring for the first time this trip. The water here is so clear, and the scenery is stunning. This afternoon, we will explore some of the reef wall.
Update: in the afternoon we split into two groups, most of us went to a small sandbar to play games and hangout, and a smaller group went for a drift snorkel along the reef wall. I went to the sandbar with my lacrosse sticks and a football. We played games and enjoyed the beautiful land/seascape. Up until I got really thirsty and had to radio Mac for emergency water, which he kindly brought. After reconvening on the boat, many of us hunkered down to work on assignments or study tides, in my case, before our evening expedition
In the evening, after dinner, we all went to the shore on a kri to enjoy some beers for those of us who are 21+ and other beverages for underage people. It was a really cool spot, and we met some of the people staying on the island for diving. Id love to come back here one day.
All in all, it was a good day.
