Hello beautiful people! Today is the day we depart from Cocos Keeling to Mauritius! We’ve got some interesting things happening over here on Vela, including some crazy waves, crazy rolls, and crazy wind, sling-shotting us to our next home. So far, we’ve reached a whopping 11.7 knots (crazy fast for a vessel this size), and there is a general feeling of seasickness that’s settled over everyone. Despite this, spirits are high, and we are so excited for the next two weeks of passage! To everyone at home, we love you and aren’t ignoring you; we just won’t have service until we get to Mauritius. Wish us good winds and calm waves for the rest of our first long passage!
