The 4th of July started off with a glorious sunrise for the members on watch from 4-8am. Waking up each morning to a different sunrise never fails to inspire. Everyone threw on their most patriotic clothing to celebrate the 4th! We spent the day on our various watches, as well as catching a 6 foot 7 inch fish. After that, everyone sat down to an exciting brunch complete with zucchini bread which was quite a treat. Following lunch, we took our first Oceanography quiz. Following the quiz, we participated in a sailing class. The PSCT group learned more about celestial navigation. Afterwards, everyone on deck showered which never fails to be a sight and a hilarious struggle with the boat moving about. Then, our lovely chefs prepared a delicious all American meal of cheeseburgers with homemade buns (by Evan) and fries. Overall, today was another amazing day sailing through the South Pacific.
Wishing all the families and friends back home to most wonderful 4th of July!
