Location: English Harbour, Antigua
After a late-night of sailing, we arrived in Antigua! Eric decided that there was no need for night watch, ensuring that everyone got a good night’s sleep. This morning we cleaned Ocean Star as she deserved some appreciation after our long sail. We tidied our bunks, cleaned the saloon, and Firebolt crew helped scrub the deck. For lunch, we enjoyed eating at a local restaurant with the best smoothies. The open water divers took their scuba test, and all officially became open water certified while the advance divers learned more about tomorrow’s night dive! With two hours of free time, we all took much-needed showers and stocked up on snacks for the next sail. We surprised Oscar with a tasty tie-dye cake and singing for his birthday!! What a way to turn 20, right?! To end the day, we hiked to Shirley Heights to watch one of the best sunsets in the Caribbean. Despite on and off rain all day, the sunset was beautiful, filling the sky with a multitude of colors over the water. After our tasty dinner, everyone enjoyed a night full of dancing to live music, including a local steel drum band. It was a relaxing day washing the boat and ourselves and continuing to get to know each other better.
