Today was super crazy and awesome. Andddddd guess what!!!! IT’S HALLOWEEN, PEOPLE, you know what that means, it all started off with me and Wiley on watch from 8-12 watch team 3 ( ps. best watch team ever ) okay anyways we go to do wake-ups at 11:26 EXACTLY but guess what we come to find out…. all of watch team 1 is not in their bed. Creepy i know, so me and Wiley run looking for watch team 1 thinking their trying to scare us come to find out they were in the chart house thinking watch team 3 was going to scare them HAHAHA anyways its been such a beautiful day and its so wonderful when you have an amazing crew to laugh with and celebrate halloween with and have no service just pure enjoyment of Perry with his halloween mask on during marine bio class. You would think not a lot goes on during passage, but I would say it’s been super hectic and fun. Some days are more challenging than others, but it’s safe to say Halloween on Vela was spooky and great. My squeeze question for today was “what’s one thing someone has said you couldn’t do and you’ve proved them wrong and done it?” I enjoyed hearing everyone answer, knowing that whatever they put their mind to, they can achieve. My group and I presented in class today, talking about “being in communities,” and it was amazing hearing everyone engage and relate to some things that go on here. Our activity was that everyone got a name from the bowl, and whoever they got, they had to write a positive sentence about how that person contributes to Vela’s community. Today I learned it’s not about how upset that person made you or how much you wanted to cry, it’s about the people who saw you get upset and saw you cry and sat there with you through it all, and that’s what makes this a beautiful community. Well, folks, that’s all I have for you today as your skipper, and I hope you have a spooky Halloween and think about a community you’re in where you feel the most happiness! Goodbyeeeee
