Today was another late start for me. This was after the 4-8, of course. During our watch, watch team 3, Fin, Maia, Zeke, Jewel, and I indulged in a variety of ramen. In case you guys havent figured it out yet, ramen or anything soupy for that matter, doesnt mix well with boats. Imagine trying to make ramen in a 2 am daze with the boat rocking like 90 degrees, yikes. Ive found that if you use a mug instead of the bowls we have, its a much easier and more comfortable way to enjoy ramen. Even with a mug, though, you might wake up with some new stains on your foulie pants or whatever youre wearing. More on this later- anyway, after the 4-8, I got right back into bed. With the fan blasting my head and a fuzzy blanket pulled up, I was out. Fast forward 4 hours, someone wakes me up for lunch, a delicious quinoa bowl with some sausage and spicy mayo action. Yuhum. Rai-Ching, as per usual, takes on the burden of bucketing for all of us. After we filled our stomachs plenty, we dove straight into cleanup. Luckily, today was pretty easy on the deckies as no one dropped a bowl. Heres where it starts to get serious; next, we had class, a closer look at how the tides work.

Did you know the Earth has bulges? Super sick stuff from Kyler. Charts, or maps as you might be more familiar with, took up the rest of our afternoon. We plotted and charted, doing all that one does with a chart. I worked with Thaxton, Destiny, Payton, and Navigation masters. Coming soon, be ready. Throughout both of these classes, Adda, Keith, and sometimes Riley worked hard in the galley, making birria tacos. This was probably the best meal we have had on Vela to date. Thank you, chefs! Having steak instead of ground beef or chicken, especially while we are on passage, was a super sweet treat for us as well. Vera and I had fun making onion towers. Now, Alice is sitting next to me, eating oatmeal, and she keeps talking, and I cant focus on this blog. We are hoping that Keith and possibly Vera will make us some cookies. Emma and Destiny (tomorrows head chef) are prepping in the galley for a good day of cooking. Watch team 1: Scarlette, Alice, Keith, Hannah, Henry, and Adda are on watch and enjoying a beautiful sunset. The rest of us might whack on a movie, in the words of Zeke. Pretty good day today, 9 out of 10. (-1 for all the stains I accumulated).

Scarlette and Adda set up an ofrenda happy (first) Da de los Muertos!

Hey everyone at home, love you guys! Wylie:)
