Today the sunrise kicked off another beautiful day on the Atlantic Ocean. Some of the shipmates took the time between studying for professional skipper course exams to make signs and decorations for the evening festivities. After a light lunch the students taking PSCT had the first part of the maritime law oral exam. The day continued on as usual with watch teams until dinnertime. Everyone had pitched in to make the best of a thanksgiving dinner underway and hundreds of miles from land. We enjoyed green bean casserole, pumpkin soup, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and canned turkey. For dessert we had pumpkin pie, apple, and peach cobbler. Everyone was still thrilled to be able to continue the American tradition so far from friends and family. To my family, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Cristina, I can’t wait to go home and see you in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I’m sure you did so well!
