Our first full day of passage started off with my watch team waking up watch team 3 to let us sleep. Watch was pretty exhausting, but Everett kept things lively with a full rendition of the first Harry Potter movie, accents and all. When I finally got to bed, the second my head hit the pillow, I was out. It felt like seconds of sleep, and then I was being woken up for the 8-12 again. We learned that as we slept, watch team 3 had to deal with the steering cable breaking on the helm, but they stayed strong and got it fixed. When we started our 8-12 again, Cornelia, Sammy, and I got a lines tour from the king himself (shoutout King Julian). He took us through each line and what they do. I definitely know more than I did before I stepped on Argo, but Im excited for when I truly know my way around. After our tour, Sammy, Everett, and I went and scrubbed the entire deck since some people decorated it the night before, having been a little seasick. After scrubbing, Everett and I went down for a boat check while some others on our watch were draining the head bilge. Once all that was finished, we brought the flying jib up, which is one of our sails. It was a very eventful watch, and I really wanted to go back to sleep after. But I had no time, so I went and woke everyone up for our corporate slop bowl lunch. After lunch, we had our first presentation for leadership class, and Everett and Max did a great presentation, which had a fun little challenge involving gummy worms, so everyone was very involved. Once leadership was over, we went back on deck and fixed some of the lines, and then the 80-dayers had marine bio down in the salon. Since the 40Bers had some free time, I finally got my nap in, and then when everyone else was done with marine bio, we all finally got our fish up, which is another sail of ours. We then set up dinner, which was weenies and creamies (alfredo pasta and hot dogs), so good and might be a new staple when I head back to college. We ended our day with a squeeze, and my question was, if you were a shark, which shark would you be? My watch team was on the 6-8 during dinner, and then once watch team 3 came by to relieve us, we finally got to head to bed and get ready for our 4-8 tomorrow morning. I went to bed very excited for Everetts rendition of the second Harry Potter movie during our watch. Overall awesome day, and Im so stoked for the rest of the passage and Raja!!
To Mom, Dad, Olivia, and Chewie, I love you all bigger than the universe miss you and cant wait to talk to you soon!!
