Location: Palau / Passage

Today we woke up at 7:00 to start passage prep! We stored all the dive gear in the laz, secured the dinghies, and pulled the anchor. Unfortunately, during the rolling of the tarp, we accidentally raised the gaitline and sent it swinging into the air. It took the better part of an hour for us to get it back, a process that involved Charlie on a harness pulling himself through the air on a hastily knotted horizontal rope.
After clearing customs and refueling, we hoisted the sails and were on passage! We got our watch team assignments (shoutout watch team 1!), ate a delicious dinner of grilled cheese and tomato soup, and began our watches (and battle against seasickness). For the 40 Bers, this is their first passage, and all of us 80-dayers had a fun time teaching the new students sail handling and all about life on passage.
