Location: Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua
Everyone woke up this morning a little relieved to be able to use dock bathrooms here in Antigua. After chowing down on Tings delicious French toast, we all got ready for our second day hike of the trip. On the hike, we saw the Pillars of Hercules as well as some tide pools, where we had a mini oceanography lecture on tide pool ecology and the tiny fish that live in them. Two lectures and some fried rice later, we had some time to work on our group research projects and to explore Nelsons Dockyard. After showering in the rain, we all gathered around for the nightly squeeze, where I asked what everyones favorite childhood TV shows were. Notable responses included Spongebob Squarepants, Dragon Tales, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Rugrats. Finally, we did an afternoon hike alongside our new dog friend up to Shirley Heights, where I am sitting now enjoying a cheeseburger, island music, and a beautiful view.
