Evidently, boiling water for four dozen eggs takes a bit longer than it does for the four I would generally do at home. I didn’t anticipate this when firing up the stove at 6 a.m. this morning, thinking I might spend twenty minutes in the galley as opposed to an hour. If I even hope to get a restaurant job, I’m confident that adding the fact that I have cooked for close to thirty people will be a solid resume booster. Perhaps our highlight of today was spotting (what we believe to be) a sperm whale off the starboard side, tail slapping the water. Matty suggested it was a form of aggression and that she/he was attempting to warn us out of its area. Argo did not flinch. We sailed on, with the hum of the engines silent and our sails full, making good time as we continued southwest to the Cape Verdes. Our candy reserves are dwindling, so it’s important we arrive soon to replenish our stocks. As long as everyone continues to pump the heads fifty times and clip into the jack lines, I’m sure we will arrive safe and sound. Keep on keeping on. “A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.”
