Location: Fam, Raja Ampat -> Ceram Sea

Today started out very restful, but it quickly turned tiring and exciting. I was skipper today, meaning I had to do wake-ups first as soon as it hit 7:00 am. Once that was complete, breakfast was set out on deck. Due to a lack of granola left on board (RIP), we had oats along with some toppings, which included berries, which I was really excited about, along with both apricot and strawberry yogurt. The excitement did not stop there because the long-awaited announcement regarding new watch teams finally arrived. I found out that I am now a part of watch team one with Rachel and Charlie, which was really exciting because that means I have been a part of every watch team at least once. I am so excited about my new watch team! I am on with a lot of really cool people who I’m sure will make the four hours fly by. Divers who previously did rescue diving yesterday did their fun dive, which gave me time to catch up on my reading, as well as call home before passage. After about an hour, I had to start helping out with passage prep, which was surprisingly super fun for me today. I am not sure what was different about today, but I had a really wonderful time working with the others aboard on different tasks. After a few hours of that, it was time for breakfast for lunch! Breakfast for lunch is always a favorite of mine, and today we had bacon. However, instead of pork, it was made of beef. I was skeptical about it as well, due to my general disdain for bacon usually, but I found it to be pretty good. We then had a post-lunch leadership class where we had two student presentations instead of one. Leadership was really fun today, and it felt really good to reflect on changes that have happened in my own life as well as appreciating those around me right now.

Sail handling on our way out of Raja Ampat was also super exciting. I am really excited to experience Komodo, which is causing me to be extremely excited for passage. The only thing I have to complain about is the
lack of my granola with a little bit of honey on top for breakfast. The granola will be missed by many, especially myself.

My watch team and I had our first watch from 2 pm to 6 pm. Conversations mostly included everyone’s history with the animated Barbie movies and Avatar: the Last Airbender.

For dinner, Shane and his sous chefs made chicken curry with naan, which was a really great way to end our day. That, along with the pod of dolphins we saw during the sunset,
has set me up to have a very nice nap until midnight when we have watch again. Goodnight to everyone at home!

Once again, RIP granola; your loss has been devastating to all aboard Argo.

To my family back home, I love you, and I miss you!
