Our day began 15 minutes late because I failed to charge my phone before bed, and my alarm didn’t go off for wakeups. But thankfully, Beck’s bacon fiasco caused breakfast to be an hour late anyway. Despite our late start, Beck and Lainey (Dive Masters in Training!) were entrusted to take your children on a scuba diving adventure with no supervision!!! Do not fear. They all returned alive and well. I, unfortunately, had to stay behind due to my gashed open head AND swimmer’s ear argh. We departed from Pink Beach, headed to our next destination, and had class on the way. At one point in NavMaster, Lainey got Gabe into a southern accent and challenged him to hold it for the whole day. Gabe immediately accepted this challenge and said he would not break character for the rest of the day. He called himself “Kosher Kowboy” (at least that’s how I imagine it would be spelled), and then he named himself “Fisher.” Born in Alabama, moved to Tennessee, and goes to School in Georgia.
A true Southerner, if you ask me. Next thing we know, Gabe shows up in a trucker hat, ripped muscle tank, and jeans (not sure where he got the jeans from). When we got to the next destination, we parked right next to Spencer’s high school British friends that he made yesterday at the last place! It’s crazy that we are traveling all the way to Bali together! Spencer spent the evening paddling around on surfboards with them while we were ocean showering. I think they are still confused as to who we are and how we ended up on the boat for the summer. My squeeze question tonight was, “When you look at yourself ten years down the road, what do you see?” I knew this question would make people uncomfortable, but I wanted to see where their minds would take them. Most answers were serious. Fisher responded with, “Buy dirt. Find the one I can’t live without. Get a ring and let my knee hit the ground. Do something I love and call it work. Throw a little money at a synagogue.” Steph almost had to be resuscitated. She was laughing so hard. I shared my vision of 31-year-old me having a two and 4-year-old with my tall, strong, and Christian (iykyk) military man on a farm in Tennessee with too many animals and lots of travel time. Most people dreamed of never leaving the sight of water, I would personally love to be land locked with mountains. Ironic right? P.S. Happy Birthday to Eleanor’s mom and sister!!
