One month on Ocean Star! We started the day with breakfast. As always, so much happened today, so I don’t really remember what we even had, but Im pretty sure I enjoyed it. After breakfast and clean up, we had two classes. First was Marine Bio, and then we had Seamanship. The classes took up most of the morning, so right after class, we had lunch. Today we had sandwiches with homemade bread, and it was pretty good, in my opinion. Then our main event for the day happened shortly after lunch. For our leadership class, we had to complete a challenge course on the island with our watch groups.
My group (watch group 3) was the first to start. We began by jumping off the boat into the water and swimming to shore. Now I don’t know the exact distance, but if I had to guess, I’d say it was about 4 miles (Sam here -Kylie’s sense of distance is very off). When we made it to land, we had to go to our first clue, and that started off our challenge. From there, we had to figure out four other clues that were spread out all around the island. In my group’s opinion, they were some very difficult challenges. They were actually so challenging that my group didn’t even finish. First ever in Sea-Mester history not to finish the challenge course. Well, actually, we ended up finishing in the morning. So we had an almost 20-hour challenge course, which is still record-shattering. Once we were all back on the boat, we had dinner together, which was a type of pasta that I cannot remember now, but I enjoyed it. And then we had slumber after a very exhausting day.
