Location: St. John, USVI

Land Ho! S/Y Argo and her crew have safely arrived in the US Virgin Islands (St. John, to be exact) after a great passage from Marathon, Florida. Watch Team 2 (made up of Matt, Jay, Katie, Rocco, Robert, and Tyler) began our day extra early this morning (12am) and awoke to a clear sky full of constellations and shooting stars. After watch, some of us headed back to sleep to catch up on some much-needed zzz’s, and we rejoined the rest of the crew at lunch for a wonderful meal of Grilled Cheeses with freshly made bread made by our two chefs Chase and Evan. After lunch, we headed down below to the galley for Student Leadership Studies and a presentation on Group Development by Joshua and Chase before heading back up on deck to drop the sails.

As we began to see the Virgin Islands in the distance, some of our thoughts drifted away to a home away from home and past adventures that began on the docks in West End (ultimately leading us to this great adventure). It’s a little bittersweet arriving here in St. John and only being a stone’s throw away from Harbour Market, Omar’s Cafe, and a lifetime of memories. But here we are, with new places to explore and new adventures to be had – the crew is eager and ready to hike. Dive and explore the islands of St John and St Thomas before setting off for our next destination of Annapolis, Maryland.

As our day wrapped up, we anchored in Francis Bay on the north side of St John and enjoyed a wholesome meal of Tandoori Curry as we watched our first sunset in the Virgin Islands.

Until Next Time…
