Today was a beautiful day! The day started early, as it usually does when you’re skipper. I woke everyone up, which was no easy task since they all seemed pretty tired. I was worried we wouldn’t make it to breakfast on time, but somehow, we pulled it off.Breakfast was a treat todayCaptain Tom whipped up crepes with Nutella, and they were so yummy. After breakfast, the advanced divers started learning about dive charts while the newer divers were doing their certifications. Lunch was ratatouille and rice, which felt surprisingly gourmet for a boat meal. Afterward, we swapped tasksnow it was the new divers’ turn to study dive charts and take their exams while the advanced divers went on a dive. I didn’t get to go, but it sounded like a lot of fun. In the afternoon, some people took ocean showers. It’s funny how much you appreciate something as simple as washing yourself when you’re on a boat for days. Dinner was chicken and pastasimple but exactly what we needed. Afterward, we had our first oceanography class, which turned out to be more engaging than I thought it would be. We learned a lot, and I found myself excited for the next class. To top it off, everyone got their phones back today! A lot of people were catching up with the outside world, sharing photos, and checking messages. It felt like a little reminder of life outside the boat, but I think we’re all pretty happy being here for now. Tomorrow, we are headed to Elba, so stay tuned!
Love you, Mom, Dad, and Toria!!
