It is day six, and I think I can speak for most of us. Today was pretty great. I woke everyone up at seven, and we got ready for breakfast. Emma’s cooking today blew the other fantastic meals out of the water. For breakfast, she baked homemade bagels, chocolate, blueberry, cinnamon, and everything. After clean up, we broke into groups. Uncertified divers headed out for confined water training, and certified divers hung back for some free time. To our great pleasure, the sun was out by breakfast, and we stayed out all day! By far the best weather we have had so far! During our free time, we took advantage of the nice weather by swimming around the boat, reading, tanning, and enjoying time with each other in the sun. Many of us also used this time to complete diving and class work. Once the first dive group was back we gathered in the cockpit for beat ricotta pasta. In the afternoon, the groups switched, and those who dove in the morning enjoyed their free time in the sun while the soon-to-be advanced and open water divers jumped in the beautiful Tyrrhenian seathe day concluded with lessons on how to take ocean showers, followed by another fantastic meal of homemade Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches and french fries. We definitely couldn’t get enough of those. Tonight we will be introduced to our nautical science class taught by the wonderful Mac. As for sleep, we threw that out of the window once we boarded this ship. Tonight, we will rotate through one-hour anchor watch shifts in pairs, giving us a chance to get to know each other one-on-one. Personally, I am off of watch tonight and will be sleeping deeply. Wishing everyone else the best of luck tonight:)
Much love from Vela,
Ruby
